Hi all,
Last week I wrote Santa in this newsgroup a letter, after seeing the 2003 GTO,
asking for a 2003/2004 Dodge Charger.
Now, I can’t find any information about that on DC sites, but when reading a bit
more about the new GTO I found this:
"How about competition [for the 2003 GTO] from other vehicle makes? The other
"new car" competition, as perceived by GM: Acura CL 3.2, BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G35,
Chrysler Crossfire, Mazda RX8, Nissan 350Z, Ford Mustang GT Premium/Cobra, Dodge Charger."
Seems like GM expects DC to release a new charger.

Hi, I just bought a 1991 Dodge Dynasty and cannot figure out how to set the
clock. I don’t know if anyone could help me with it or not but thought I
would try here.
Thanx
Running lights seem to be a step in the right direction for safety. You
begin to appreciate their value on open two-lane highways where these
lights help to spot oncoming traffic prior to initiating overtaking.
Without lights, opposing traffic often blends into the background making
distance judgments difficult.
One problem I have picked up on is the horizontal spacing of driving lamps
are not standardized. It is the angular spacing of the lights which gives
the eye the necessary cues to judge distance of the oncoming traffic.
Standardization of running lights will definitely improve the ability to
judge the proximity of traffic in the opposite lane and make overtaking a
safer proposition.
Theoretically, you should also be able to judge the speed of the opposing
traffic as well, by the dynamic increasing apparent spacing of the driving
lights, but that will remain problematic at the ranges where the pass
begins.
My recommendation at this point is that electrical circuitry should be
configured to operate the standard headlamps only and at partial
brightness. In the future, the spacing of the headlamps should be stated
as a min-max spec., the maximum waived for narrow bodied vehicles and
motorcycles.
Hello everyone.
Me again! I am attempting to swap stereos on my ’85 New Yorker. The problem
I am having is that I can not find anything thing to remove the two screws
that hold the stereo in place. It’ got a round head with three indentations
about 120 degrees apart on the head.
I tried most of my local auto parts and they looked at me like I was on
something.
HELP!!
Jesse
Mike said,
>SEE and BE SEEN.. what
>should be a jailable offence is running around with one headlamp not
>working..
Give me a break, Mike! I said DRLs are a good idea but don’t go crazy on
me.
The reason why there are TWO headlamps is so IN CASE ONE BURNS OUT, you can
still see and be seen, at least enough not to crash and usually enough to
get safely home. Then you can replace the burned out one tomorrow. Its
not like the end of the world and its not something you should even be
ticketed for. A police officer has the right to stop you and warn you but
should let you go with a warning and your promise to replace it.
Now, if he sees you again a week later driving around like a cyclops, then
you need to be cited and fined. But not jailed, you mean guy, you.
I’m having a problem when I turn on the heat, the radiator fan turns on even
when the engine is cold and stays on continuously. I also realize that if I
turn on the air conditionor, and turn the temp way down, the compressor clutch
doesn’t engage anymore. Very strange. I did the self diagnostic test with the
heating control and it gives a 36 error. Communication problem of some sort.
Anyone have a glue what to do? HELP!!!!
Greetings — Any help would be appreciated–
I have a 1993 Chrysler Town and Country mini-van.
It has served me well (sort of) for 140,000 miles.
I get a heavy smell of raw fuel in the engine compartment
when the engine is cold and the outside temperature is
under 40 Degrees F. BUT – the smell goes away when the car
warms up.
The engine is a 3.3L V6 with EFI. When cold I do NOT notice
any change in driveability (performance is normal) and
the fuel econony has not changed for a long time. I still
get 21.2 MPG city, summer or winter.
Any suggestions. You can reply to this posting or send me
private email. Has anyone else experienced this problem.
What was the solution? Will it be worth the money to take it
to the dealer and have a DRB-II scan?
Regards and thanks in advance.

P.S. For anyone interested, the ’93 has habitual problems with
the ABS pump and actuator. The good news is that that part has
a lifetime factory warranty. Must be a safety issue. I’ve had
3 replaced so far gratus from dealer. Keep that in mind.
Symptoms are: ABS light comes on (solid or intermittent),
cannot hear the pump running when brakes applied a few times,
and brake pedal is "high and hard". I think the recall # is 685

My 2004 came with this feature as standard equipment. It is the type that
the Court’s just determined is so useless that it does not comply with the
regulatory requirements.
I just put on my 4 snow tires on their own wheels without wheel sensors. Now
the overhead display almost always displays a notice that the system needs
to be checked. Is there any way to turn this notice off? Another good idea
done badly.
Richard.
Love it – Leather & Loaded -145,000 miles and still ticking – BUT I spilled
kerosene on the carpeting and now everyone refuses to ride in it. I
scrubbed with carpet cleaner and used coffee grounds, baking soda, but the
smell is still overpowering. I am attempting to take all the carpet out and
wash it at the laundromat and now I discover that it’s all one big piece
front to back. So I’m taking the seats out and I don’t have the correct
socket to fit those big nuts underneath. Is that a 20 metric? I have 19
and 21 but no twenty and 13/16 is a shade to big. No wonder I drink. Who
has tips?
’99 Chrysler Town & Country with funking wiper delay system.
On normal or full speed, the wipers work fine. When moved to slightly
delayed, (~1 or 2 seconds delay between swipes), still no problem.
However, as the control is moved to more delay, the delay may work for a
few swipes but then stop working. When shut off, they may swipe 2-3
times before turning off. Lately if I can get it to operate with more
than 2 second delay, it will randomly double swipe.
I assume this is a delay timing circuit problem. Can anyone tell me if
this is reasonable for me to attempt to repair, or is this an issue for
the Chrysler dealer?
