I’ve been very happy with my 1995 Avenger ES since I purchased it.
Now I’m interested in doing some upgrades, but I need some advise…
(1) I wanted to lower my suspension down about 2 or 3 inch. I’ve
spoken to a few performance auto places and they said it’s possible,
but the back end if difficult. I also asked them if that would
possible void my warranty, but they had no answer. So, does anyone
know if this would actually void my warranty?
(2) I’m interested in upgrading the entire exhaust from the cat down.
I’ve had a few quotes which all sound reasonable, but once again, no
one could answer my question concerning warranty.
And one question, completely off-topic. I know my drivers seat has a
memory switch so that when I slid the seat front, it goes back into
place when pushed back. I know the passengers side has a memory
setting, but it’s a facory setting, which doesn’t leave enough room in
the front for a person. Is there a way of changing the factory
setting, or do I keep adjusting it manually?

From my experience with warranty’s. I’ve found that if you change one
thing, then it voids the entire warranty. Thats probably why the
performance shops wont give you an answer, they just want your money.

Can’t do it… anything will void the warranty on those cars (really stinks).
We have a ’96 Avenger ES with the 5-speed and it doesn’t have a rear sway bar
like the auto-V6 ones do. So we called Chrysler and asked if we could have
one put on. No, it will void the warranty. Plus, new rear A-arms were needed
along with the rear sway bar and fittings.
Maybe you can talk someone into signing something that says it does not void
the warranty, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.

After 2 weeks of researching the question I initally posted here, I
did find answers. The question concerned lowering the suspension of a
1995 or 1996 Avenger ES.
After speaking to many High-Performance Auto places as well as my
Dodge Dealer, they said that as long as I give them a complete list of
what components are being replaced, the manufacture of the new
components, and I speak to the service manager and all this
information is recorded in his database, everything will be ok. The
only part of the warranty that will be voided is the suspension.
Everything else is fine, including any additional warranty I’ve have
purchased.
The question is, I only know of one high-performence suspension kit
created by German based H&R for the Dodge Avenger. It drops the front
suspension by 1.3" inches and the back by 1.4" inches (I might have
the figures reversed). I was looking for something a little lower,
like 2.5" or 3.0" inches. Anyone know of such a suspension kit
created for a 1995 Dodge Avenger ES?

Do you expect to drive this on the street? Our ’96 Avenger ES scraps
some driveway entrances. If you drop the car 2.5" or 3", you will hit the
front end on almost everything. The car is pretty low to begin with. I would
say 1.5" drop is probably as low as is practical. Just a thought…

no kidding
how low do you want to go on a nose like that ?
i have scraped my avenger nose
a little here and there, and now I just
don’t go over entrances that aren’t perfectly
level anymore, unless I can attack them at a 30 degree angle.
the avenger nose doesn’t look low, but it is.
