Does anyone know the R-12 capacity for a Dodge Omni? I have conflicting
reports on this(of course it is entirely possible that I am interperting
this wrong). I have Chilton’s guide to A/C repair and service and it says
the R-12 recharge capacity is 38 *lbs*, but under the hood of my Omni it
lists the maximum recharge capacity as 34 *oz*. I thought this might be a
typo in the book so I looked at other automobiles R-12 capacities in the
book and almost all of them are also shown as pounds(a few are shown as
oz.). Is this lbs rating maybe the R-12 pressure(low side)? It seems
illogical to me that the A/C system in my Omni can hold *38* pounds of freon!
Can anyone help?????
Thanx in advance….

Brian,
ALWAYS go by the underhood sticker.. Even if the book had ounces, there
could have been production line changes that affected the system
capacity.. The sticker is always correct.
Later,
